Dhaka Abahani Limited and Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited have been billed in Group-B of the Federation Cup Football. The other teams of the Group-B are Chittagong Abahani Limited, Rahmatganj MFS and Fakirerpool Youngmens Club.
The draw-ceremony of the Federation Cup Football was held at the BFF House on Wednesday. A total of 10 teams splitting into two groups will take part in the upcoming football competition.
Bashundhara Kings, Police Football Club, Fortis Football Club, Brothers Union Club and Wanderers Club have been taken place in Group-A.
The first phase of the tournament will be held on league basis. Top two teams from each group will play in the next round. The next round of the competition will be held in a different style.
Like Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket, there will be eliminators phase and qualifier phase. The champions of each group will play in the first qualifier phase. The winning team of the phase will move into the final.
On the other hand, the runners-up of the each group will play in the eliminator phase. The winning team of the eliminator phase will play against the losers of the qualifiers. The winning team of that phase will get ticket of the final. The winner of the final will be the champions of the competition.
The Chairman of the League Committee Imrul Hasan said, ” A team become group champions after maintaining consistency and hard-ship. So, we have decided to arrange this meet in this system.”
The matches of the Federation Cup Football will be held at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital, Rafique Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh, and Bhasha Shoinik Dhirendranath Dutt Stadium in Comilla.
