A court on Wednesday placed former Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs minister Anisul Huq on a five-day remand in a case lodged over the murder of garment worker Fazlul Karim during the July-August mass uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Imran Ahammed passed the order as police produced the former law minister before the court and pleaded to place him on a 10-day remand in the case lodged with the capital’s Uttara East Police Station, reports BSS.
Anisul Huq was arrested from the Sadarghat area as he along with Salman F Rahman was trying to flee the capital through the waterways on August 13.
On August 5, Fazlul Karim got shot as he was taking part in the anti-discrimination movement in the Uttara area. He was rushed to Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital. Fazlul Karim later died from his injuries.
His brother filed the case against 40 people in this regard.
