53 sued for torturing ICS men

Seven former leaders and workers of Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS), who became disabled for lifelong due to torture of RAB and police, have filed complaints with the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) in the capital.

They submitted the complaints separately appearing at the ICT early Sunday (November 17) afternoon.

One of the complainants is still missing, and his brother submitted complaint on his behalf.

Advocate Dr Amanullah Al Jihadi Adib, who represents the complainants, confirmed it.

He said the names of 53 individuals including RAB-police officials were mentioned in the complaints for their involvement in inhuman and barbaric incidents like enforced disappearances, tortures and making disabled.

Dr Amanullah Al Jihadi Adib also said the complainants were Rajshahi University Unit of ICS Residential Wing’s worker Md Jony Islam who had lost his leg; ICS worker Md Abdul Karim of Banshkhali, Chittagong; former Shibir activist Alamgir Hossain of Sherpur, Bogra, who became disabled; Delwar Hossain Mishu of Noakhali, who lost his eye in torture; Saiful Islam Tareque of Rangunia, Chittagong, who became disabled in torture; former ICS president Nurul Amin of Gulshan Bhatara Police Station; and former Chhatra Shibir president Md Kamruzzaman of Jhenidah district.
