$1.123bn remittance received in 16 days

The latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) revealed Bangladesh has received $1.123 billion in remittance in 16 days of November and through private banks stood at $749.75 million.

Besides, $420.7 million came through state-owned banks, $81.46 million through specialised banks, and $3.22 million through foreign banks.

Among the banks operating in the country, Islami Bank received the highest remittances of $203.26 million as a single bank during the period.

Janata Bank is the second receiving $128.17 million while BRAC Bank is 3rd receiving $121.53 million.

In the current fiscal year FY 2024-25, expatriates sent $1.91 billion in July, $2.22 billion in August, and $2.39 billion in September.
