Abdullah shot during protest, dies after 3 months

A student who suffered critical bullet injuries in the head in Tanti Bazar area of the capital during the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5, died in a city hospital on Thursday.

Abdullah, a fourth-year student of political sciences department at the Government Shahid Suhrawardy College breathed his last at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka at 7 am in the morning after more than three months he suffered bullet injuries, reports BSS.

His namaz-e-janaza was held on the ground of Government Shahid Suhrawardy College prior to Maghrib prayer, officer-in-charge of Sutrapur Police Station Md Saiful Islam told BSS.

The body of Abdullah was later taken to Central Shaheed Minar, where advisers of the interim government and coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement would pay due respect to him, he said.
After that his body will be taken to his village home Jashore for burial, Saiful said.

Earlier, the body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
