The defence requested bail and cancellation of the remand.
However, due to the unavailability of the case documents, the court ordered him to be sent to jail and set the remand hearing date.

Selim was arrested by Chawkbazar police late on Wednesday night at a residence in Gulshan, Dhaka.
The case alleges that on the morning of August 5, leaders and activists of various affiliates of the Awami League armed with firearms and locally made weapons indiscriminately opened fire and exploded cocktails on protesting students and people at the Chankharpul intersection in Dhaka.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sefatullah gave the order against Mukul rejecting Mukul’s bail plea on Thursday. The police had earlier sought to keep him in custody.
