Dhaka Regional Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (DRC-ICAB), and the Bangladesh Chartered Accountancy Chhatra Parishad (BCACP) brought out a rally with the participation of ICAB members and multitudes of pupil from different CA firms marking International Accounting Day on 10 November 2024. The rally marched the adjacent roads to the CA Bhaban in the city.
DRC-ICAB and BCACP also organized IFRS Quiz contest among the students of CA Firms at ICAB auditorium in the evening of the day where hundreds of enthusiastic students and CA members were present. The award giving ceremony of the quiz contest took place following a discussion meeting.
The speakers highlighted on the importance of Accountancy education, background of the observance of the day and factors embedded in future prospect. They also mentioned that ICAB took various initiatives to make aware people about the pervasive demand of accountancy profession in every sphere of our lives. The celebration of this day will be in a more pompous and befitting manner in the days to come-speakers added.
The celebration attracted a huge gathering in the auditorium. The day was observed in line with the celebration of the international community of accountancy profession. ICAB Acting President MBM Lutful Hadee FCA, CEO Shubhashish Bose, Ramdas Howlader FCA, Chairman of DRC-ICAB, Mohammad Moin Uddin Riad FCA, Secretary, DRC-ICAB, Md. Rezual Azad, President of BCACP and Md. Jalal Uddin Bhuiyan, Vice President of BCACP took part in the discussion and thereafter, handed over the prizes to the quiz contest winners.
The International Accounting Day on the 10th of November is observed by countries across the globe. In light of this, the South Asian Federation of Accountants(SAFA), a Forum of professional Accounting bodies of SAARC countries, celebrates this day to illuminate the importance of the Accounting profession on November 10th every year.
