A rally and oath-taking ceremony were held on Wednesday at Nabakumar Institution and Dr. Shahidullah College in Old Dhaka. The event was part of a social awareness campaign under the theme “Smoke-Free Campus for a Healthier Environment.”
Brigadier General Md. Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan, SUP (Retd.), Principal of Nabakumar Institution and Dr. Shahidullah College, addressed the gathering, emphasising that smoking has become a fashion among the younger generation, particularly teenagers, which often leads to addiction.
He highlighted that such awareness initiatives are crucial and that every educational institution should take up similar campaigns.
He also encouraged students and attendees to adopt healthier habits and avoid smoking.
