MASTUL Foundation holds event in Dhaka

Healthy lifestyle in the light of Islam

MASTUL Foundation and Al Zakat Sadaka Foundation jointly organised an event titled “Healthy Living in the Light of Islam” on Saturday that explored the relationship between Islamic teachings and a healthy lifestyle. The program was attended by prominent religious figures, medical and mental health experts, and social workers.
The main objective of this event was to promote awareness about living a healthy and balanced life according to Islamic principles, highlighting responsibility and humanitarian values.
Distinguished speakers and guests included Islamic scholar and TV presenter Maulana Mohammad Abdul Kahhar, columnist Mufti Mohammad Mohibullahil Baki (Imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque), Dr. Golam Nabi (Professor at ZH Sikder Women’s Medical College & Hospital), dietitian Dr. Jennifer Binte Haque (Consultant, Green Life Hospital & Thyrocare Consultation Center), Dr. Yahya Amin (Psychologist, University of London and President of LifeSpring Foundation), and Dr. Fahmida Ferdousi, among others. During the program, Sheikh Mufti Saiful Islam shared that charity is not just an act of worship for believers but also an expression of love and gratitude to Allah. He mentioned that Allah increases the rewards of charity up to 700 times and that it can ward off calamities.
Dr. Golam Nabi expressed his admiration for MASTUL Foundation, saying, “My journey with MASTULl Foundation has been long, and during this time, my respect and love for their work have only grown. Islam doesn’t only guide us on religious practices; it provides a comprehensive approach to well-being in every aspect of life.”
MASTUL Foundation’s Founder and Executive Director, Kazi Reaz Rahman, emphasized, “The purpose of the ‘Healthy Living in the Light of Islam’ event is to raise awareness about health and well-being according to Islamic principles. Islam not only guides us in worship but also stresses physical and mental wellness. Our aim is not only to highlight the importance of charity but also to inspire everyone to lead a life in accordance with Islamic teachings.” Through this event, attendees were inspired to pursue physical and mental health with Islamic values as a guiding framework, marking a significant achievement for the organizers. It is worth noting that MASTUL Foundation runs multiple community service projects, including schools, madrassas, orphanages, and elderly care homes, providing care and shelter for hundreds of orphans and elderly individuals. Additionally, MASTUL’s project schools in several districts support over a thousand underprivileged yet talented students with educational materials, health services, nutritious food, and protection of child rights.
