A discussion meeting on “National Revolution and Solidarity Day” was held at the conference room of Netrakona press club here on Friday.
Netrakona Journalists Welfare Association( NJWA) organised the meeting marking the National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
Prominent political analyst of the country Major retired Sayed Abu Bakkar Siddik addressed the meeting as chief guest with president of the NJWA and member secretary of Netrakona press club Mahbubul Kibria Chowdhory Halim was in the chair.
The meeting was addressed, among others, by freedom fighter and writer Haider Jahan Chowdhory, senior journalists Shamolendu Paul, M Faqrul Haque, Muklesur Rahman Khan and Nazmus Shahadad Nazu.
The meeting was conducted by general secretary of the NJWA and journalist Delwar Khan.
Speaking at the meeting, the chief guest Major retired Sayed Abu Bakkar Siddik said, the day of November-7 is a historic and memorable day as the Shaheed president Ziaur Rahman, who declared the country’s independence, was freed on the day from the captivity of the some misguided and ambitious army officers by the fearless army soldiers and patriotic people.
“All the fearless and patriotic army soldiers and nationalists forces forged a greater unity and solidarity under the leadership of Shaheed Zia on the day to safeguard the country’s independence and sovereignty, he said adding that so, all of us should uphold the spirit of the national revolution and solidarity day and let our new generation to know the actual happenings of the day.
