Youth handed to police while robbing passengers in N’ganj

In Sonargaon, Narayanganj, local residents apprehended notorious gang leader Saddam Hossain while he was attempting to rob passengers in a vehicle, handing him over to the police. Saddam is a repeat offender with charges in 17 cases, including robbery, hijacking, and drug-related crimes. He was released on bail just this past Wednesday.
The incident occurred early on Saturday morning, around 2:30 a.m., when Saddam attempted to rob a passenger minibus near Gohatta in the Mograpara Union. The locals caught him in the act, although his accomplices managed to escape. Later that day, the police officially charged Saddam in a robbery case and presented him to the Narayanganj court, which subsequently ordered his return to jail. Saddam is from the village of Habibpur, and his father is Md. Mozammel Hossain.
According to police sources, Saddam leads a group of 10-15 members that has been involved in numerous robberies targeting vehicles along the Dhaka-Chattogram highway.
