Former lawmaker from Jhenaidah-2 constituency Tahjib Alam Siddique, who was arrested on Thursday night from Dhaka, has been placed on three-day remand in connection with three separate cases including two murders.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Rumana Afroze on Friday granted a three-day remand for quizzing in three separate cases, including the murder of Jamaat-e-Islami leader Abdus Salam, reports BSS.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station Shaheen Uddin told BSS that the police sought a 10-day remand but the court granted him three-day remand concurrently, not separately.
Earlier, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested him from a house at Nabinagar of Savar on Thursday night and sent him to Jhenaidah amid tight security, to produce him before the court.
Tahjib was arrested in connection with three separate cases of vandalism, arson, explosive possession and murder with Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station on August 19, 24 and 27 this year.
