NN Online:

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will not be traveling to London for advanced medical treatment on Friday despite all arrangements being in place, as previously announced by the BNP. The party had initially stated that she would be departing on November 8.

According to MA Malek, President of the UK BNP, the decision to postpone Khaleda Zia’s travel was made on the advice of her medical team due to her current health condition, even though a specialized air ambulance and visas had been arranged.

Her son, acting BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman, along with the rest of her family, awaits her arrival in London.

Earlier, Khaleda Zia’s personal physician and BNP Standing Committee member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain had informed the press that she would depart for London on November 8 for initial treatment. Following a layover in London, she was expected to be transferred to a multidisciplinary medical center, potentially in the United States or Germany, for further care.

Based on the initial travel plan, arrangements were made for a long-distance specialized air ambulance. Visas were secured for a 16-member medical team and support group, including seven doctors, three nurses, and close family members. Those expected to accompany Khaleda Zia include Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, Dr. Shahabuddin, Dr. Shamsul Arefin, Dr. Nur Uddin, Dr. FM Siddique, Dr. Zafar, and Dr. Al Mamun, as well as her late son Arafat Rahman Koko’s wife, Sharmila Rahman Sithi, and two long-time household staff members, Fatema and Rupa.
