Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the upcoming presidential election, has filed a lawsuit against CBS News, demanding $10 billion in damages. The lawsuit stems from an interview with Democratic candidate Kamala Harris that aired on CBS’s “60 Minutes” program on Thursday.
In the lawsuit filed in a federal court in Texas, Trump alleges that the interview is misleading. He claims that CBS presented two conflicting responses to a question regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict. However, CBS has denied these allegations, reports international media.
In a statement, CBS clarified that the interview with Kamala Harris was originally conducted for their program “Face the Nation” on October 7. They emphasized that the segment aired on “60 Minutes” contained only a brief excerpt of Harris’s response to the question about the Israel-Hamas war. CBS added that the interview was shortened to accommodate other topics during the “60 Minutes” broadcast, asserting that Trump’s claims are unfounded, according to a spokesperson for CBS News.
