Head of the Election System reform commissionDrBadiul Alam Majumdar said there is no need to exchange view with the political parties’ over the issue of election system reform. But advises from the political parties’ will be accepted.
He said it after a meeting with Election System Reform Commission on Thursday, held at Nirbachan Bhavan.
Other member of the commission DrTofail Ahmed, a local government and election affairs expert, JesminTuli, a former additional secretary of the Election Commission (EC) Secretariat, Md Abdul Alim, an election expert, Dr Zahed Ur Rahman, a political analyst, Mir Nadia Nivin, an institutional reform and governance process expert, Mohammad SadekFerdus, an expert in electronic voting and blockchain and a student representative were present in the meeting.
DrAlam said activities of the reform committee are going on remarkably. We have arranged about 12 meetings where we have scrutinized the electoral laws. We will welcome any kind of advises from various stakeholders on the issue.
Head of the Election System reform commission said arrange a free, fair and acceptable election to all is not our duty.
