A candidate will be able to sit for the Bangladesh Cadre Service (BCS) exam a maximum of four times.
The advisory council made the new decision in a meeting on Thursday, according to a press release of Cabinet Division, reports media.
Earlier, a decision was finalized that a candidate could participate in the BCS exam for a maximum of three times. This decision sparked various discussions and criticisms.
However, the interim government has now reversed this decision.
The Advisory Council has decided that a candidate can participate in the BCS examination up to four times.
The release said that in line with the Ordinance determining the maximum age limit for direct recruitment in government, autonomous, semi-autonomous, and constitutionally established government authorities, as well as public non-financial corporations and self-governing bodies, the Ministry of Public Administration has instructed the Advisory Council to amend the “Bangladesh Civil Service (Age, Qualification, and Direct Recruitment Examination) Rules, 2014.”
As a result, a candidate will now be allowed to participate in the BCS examination a maximum of four times.
