Outsourcing workers withdraw blockade

The agitating outsourcing employees, demanding nationalisation of outsourcing and contractual jobs, have suspended their blockade programme after meeting with the Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
Earlier, outsourcing employees took positions in front of the National Museum from Shahbagh around 10:00am.

“The Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary said that he will work to fulfill our demands as soon as possible,” said Mahbubur Rahman Anis, coordinator of the movement and president of the Outsourcing Employees Association.

They suspended their agitation for 15 days and warned for tougher programmes if their demands are not met within the timeframe.

They are opposing daily wage work in various government projects and demanding all government facilities by making their jobs permanent.

The protesters alleged that they have not been paid for six months. The protesters vowed to continue their protest until their demands are met.
