Hathurusingha responds to BCB but termination stands

Chandika Hathurusingha responded via his lawyer to the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) show-cause notice on Wednesday, he sent his response via email to CEO of the BCB Nizam Uddin Chowdhury.

On Tuesday, BCB President Faruk Ahmed issued a show-cause notice and suspended the Tigers’ head coach, following allegations that Hathurusingha physically assaulted Nasum Ahmed in the dressing room during the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup in Chennai.

Meanwhile, the BCB has officially terminated Hathurusingha, canceling his contract on Thursday, which was initially set to run until the 2024 Champions Trophy.

On Thursday, the BCB formalised the decision to terminate Hathurusingha during an emergency Zoom meeting.
