Staff Reporter  :

In the latest Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination results, female students have once again outperformed their male counterparts, both in securing GPA-5 scores and achieving higher pass rates.

This trend highlights the consistent academic excellence demonstrated by girls across the country.

According to the results released by the 11 education boards published on Tuesday, the average pass rate for this year stands at 77.78 per cent.

Female students secured an impressive pass rate of 79.95 per cent, surpassing the 75.61 per cent achieved by male students.

This data reflects the ongoing commitment and dedication of female students to their studies.

In addition to higher pass rates, girls also excelled in obtaining the highest grade, GPA-5. Out of the total 145,911 students who attained this distinction, 80,933 were female, while 64,978 were male.

This achievement further emphasizes the hard work and academic prowess of female students.

However, despite the notable success of female students, the overall average pass rate for this year saw a slight decline compared to last year’s 78.64 per cent.

Nevertheless, the continued strong performance of girls in both pass rates and GPA-5 awards sets a positive trend in the education sector, demonstrating progress and potential for the future.

Meanwhile, no student from 65 institutions passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination and its equivalent examinations this year.
This marks a significant increase from last year when 42 institutions witnessed zero pass rate.

The results of the HSC and equivalent exams were published on Tuesday with a pass rate of 77.78 per cent.
