International Disaster Mitigation Day 2024 has been duly celebrated by Chitalmari Upazila Administration & Upazila Disaster Management Department combinedly.
On this occasion, a discussion meeting was held in the upazila meeting room on Sunday. Presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nayan Kumar Rajbanshi, in the meeting, Project Implementation Officer (PIO) Apoorba Kumar Das gave the opening speech. Among others, President of Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee Md. Kamruzzaman Khan Picklu, Women Affairs Officer Md. Hafizur Rahman, Upazila Asstt. Education Officer Tapan Kumar spoke about the importance of the day, what to do and future actions and ways to mitigate the natural disasters and its adoptation.
Upazila Engineer Md. Saddam Hossain gave a speech emphasizing on the adoption and implementation of the engineering strategies adopted to deal with the challenges of disaster mitigation along with conducting the programme.
