In a major move ahead of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) players’ draft, Dhaka Capitals have directly signed Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera.
The development has been confirmed by a trusted source to Cricfrenzy. Perera is expected to play the entire season for Dhaka in this year’s BPL.
Among local players, Dhaka Capitals had already signed left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman a few days ago. Opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim, a member of Bangladesh’s Under-19 World Cup-winning team, was also signed by the franchise on Friday.
In addition to local players, Dhaka Capitals are securing deals with foreign cricketers as well. If everything goes as planned, West Indian opener Johnson Charles will play in the Dhaka leg of the BPL. Another explosive opener, England’s Alex Hales, is also joined the team.
Meanwhile, Khulna Tigers bagged Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz and retained Nasum Ahmed and Afif Hossain. Sylhet Strikers retained young pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
