Information Adviser Nahid Islam has claimed that India is engaging in a propaganda campaign to portray Bangladesh as an extremist nation.

According to him, India’s objective is to convince the global community of this false narrative while simultaneously nurturing the extremism prevalent within its own borders.

He described recent incidents in Bangladesh as “undesirable and isolated events” that do not represent the true state of the nation.

Adviser Nahid made these remarks on Saturday, October 12, while addressing the media during the 16th-anniversary celebration of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur.

He highlighted the significance of the sacrifices made during past uprisings, stating, “The nation will always remember the sacrifice of Abu Sayeed, the first martyr of the student uprising.

We are committed to advancing this university, which played a pivotal role in the student revolution.”

Nahid further emphasized that “Awami fascist forces are no longer active on the streets but have shifted their activities online.” He assured that the government will use legal means to address these forces and their influence.

Earlier in the day, Adviser Nahid inaugurated the university’s main entrance by cutting a ribbon as part of the anniversary celebrations.

He also participated in a colorful procession alongside the Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University and other distinguished guests, marking the occasion with enthusiasm and solidarity.
