BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has urged the Dr. Mohammad Yunus-led interim government to remove all collaborators of the ousted fascist Sheikh Hasina regime from the administration.

Rizvi warned that if the interim government fails to remove these collaborators and spies from the administration, the country could face a dangerous situation.

On Tuesday, Rizvi made these remarks while distributing dengue prevention leaflets during a BNP-organized public awareness campaign in Gulshan, Dhaka.

Addressing the interim government, Rizvi stated, “While showing humanity is important, those who themselves lacked it and encouraged Sheikh Hasina to open fire on protesting students and citizens must be identified.

If these remnants of fascism remain within the administration, they will obstruct you at every step.

It is essential to swiftly identify them and replace them with capable and neutral individuals, regardless of their political affiliation, as long as they support democracy.”

Rizvi also commented on the potential return of Sheikh Hasina to power, saying, “Her return would turn the country into a dangerous killing field.

To prevent such a situation, the interim government must implement necessary reforms and move towards free and fair elections immediately.”

He further emphasized that any political party coming to power through a fair election must work with integrity and take swift action. Rizvi suggested that the interim government, led by Yunus, needs to create the necessary environment for such elections.

Commenting on the case of Executive Magistrate Taposi Tabassum Urmi of the Lalmonirhat district administration, Rizvi said, “She labeled Abu Sayeed, a martyr who bravely sacrificed his life facing Hasina’s police bullets, as a terrorist and a troublemaker.

Individuals like her are present in various parts of the administration. Executive magistrates are a part of the administration, and we all know how these collaborators of the fallen regime are trying to undermine a revolutionary government, from the secretariat to the judiciary and even in the remotest corners of the country.”

Addressing newly promoted officials within the administration, Rizvi said, “Those who have recently received promotions must remember that the Awami League administration has amassed millions by looting public funds. You were deprived and marked as opposition supporters. If you now think of compensating for your past deprivation by joining this looting, the nation will plunge into perpetual darkness.”

Rizvi also alleged that Sajeeb Wazed Joy has hired a lobbying firm in Singapore to advocate on their behalf. “These are not trivial matters,” he added.

The event was attended by BNP Health Secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam, Executive Committee member Nazim Uddin Alam, and volunteer leader Dr. Zahidul Kabir, among others.
