Powerhouse team of Bangladesh’s football Bashundhara Kings have hired Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited’s striker Souleymane Diabate for the upcoming three matches of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge League. Five times consecutive champions of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football Bashundhara Kings will play their first match of the AFC Challenge League against Nejmeh Sporting Club of Leabanon on October 26, Bashundhara Kings will take on East Bengal Football Club of India on October 29, Bashundhara Kings will face Paro Football Club of Bhutan on November 1. All the matches will be held at Changlimithang Football Stadium in Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan. If everything goes well, Souleymane Diabate, the Malian striker will play all the three matches.
It may be mentioned that Bashundhara Kings are the reigning champions of the BPL Football, while Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club are the defending runners-up of the BPL Football. So, it is not a comfortable news for the supporters of the popular black-and-white outfit.
Secretary of the Football Committee of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Abu Hasan Chowdhury Prince said, ” It is not a matter of criticism. Kings have needed Diabate for three matches and our Chairman of the Football Committee have approved it. Earlier, we hired players from Bashunadhara Kings. There are many examples in international arena that a footballer of a team played for another club.”
Meanwhile, Bashundhara Kings have hired Uzbek defender Jasur Jumayev of Fortis Football Club. Kings have also included midfielder Charles Didier from Ivory Coast, who played last year for Kings.
