Students of Alia Madrasah Dhaka staged a protest on Thursday against recent offensive remarks made about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by members of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The students organised a rally at the Central Shaheed Minar, where they vehemently condemned the derogatory comments, declaring that they would not tolerate such criticism of the Prophet.

The remarks have sparked widespread outrage among Muslims in Bangladesh and other countries, including India. Protests have been ongoing across Bangladesh, with various groups, including Islamic political parties, taking to the streets to voice their opposition to the offensive speech.

On September 28, Bangladesh Khilafat Andolan and Boishammya-Birodhi Qawmi ChattraOikya Parishad held rallies in front of the National Mosque, Baitul Mukarram, where hundreds of protesters demanded the punishment of Ramgiri Maharaj and Nitesh Narayan Rane, the individuals responsible for the comments.

Similar protests have been held in other parts of the country, including Rajshahi, Munshiganj, Brahmanbaria, Barishal, and Chattogram, where demonstrators condemned the remarks and called for exemplary punishment of those involved.

On September 29, students at Jahangirnagar University also organised a protest rally denouncing the offensive remarks. They called for a national condemnation of the comments from the interim government, led by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
