A mobile court operated by upazila administration fined two total 7 lakh taka for extraction of sand from Sugandha RIver in Nalchity upazila of Jhalokathi district .
Nazrul Islam, UNO ofthe upazila led the court in the old ferry and launch ghat areas of the upazila.
Ashrafur Rahman, deputy commissioner of Jhalokathi said on Sunday, the upazila executive officer (UNO) operated a drive in Sugandha river area adjacent to the old ferry and launch ghat of Dapadapia union of the upazila. During the drive we caught two red handed while illegally lifting sand and they were fined seven lakh taka or three months imprisonment in default of paying fine.
However collected penalties already have been deposited duly in the government treasury through treasury challans.
