Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Zulfiqar Ali Haider has said police will remain alert to maintain the law and order situation during the celebration of the upcoming Durga Puja.
“KMP will perform its duties with the utmost professionalism and sincerity to ensure smooth celebration of the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community,” he made the remarks while exchanging views with the leaders of the city unit Puja Udjapan Parishad at the KMP headquarters on Wednesday night.
The police commissioner said that all security measures have been taken for Durga Puja celebration, adding that KMP officials, including, the officer-in-charge of all metropolitan police stations, have already started visiting Puja Mondaps.
He also urged the leaders of the Puja committee to deploy their own volunteers at each Puja Mondap to ensure all-time security side by side police.
