OBOR delegation shows interest in Bangladesh’s energy sector, smart development projects

The visiting high-profile delegation from the Global Confederaton of Belt and Road Economic Cooperation (OBOR) has shown interest to support Bangladesh in advancing its long-term goals for a prosperous and green future.

Arrived in the city on a 5-day visit on September 21, the delegation met high officials of Public Private Partnership Authority, Power Division and business chambers leaders among others.

Sharifah Sabrina, Chairperson of OBOR Economic Cooperation for Bangladesh, led the nine-member delegation which included Chris Chan from Singapore and Xu Feng, Secretary General of the Confederation, from China.

The OBOR delegation has expressed keen interest in participating in Bangladesh’s energy sector and smart development projects that emphasize sustainability.

This visit coincides with global discussions on sustainability at the ongoing UN General Assembly in New York.
The OBOR’s delegation is endorsing the assembly’s calls for creative and sustainable solutions to tackle environmental challenges.
