Residential students of Fazlul Haque Hall of Dhaka University beat up a man named Tofazzal on suspicion of being a thief. Killed Tofazzal’s house is in Kanthal Toli Union of Patharghata Upazila of Barguna District. None of his parents are alive. He was known to be mentally unstable.
On the other hand, the injured former leader of Chhatra League, Shamim Ahmed alias Shamim Molla, who was injured in the attack by a group of students in Jahangirnagar University, died.
He died on Wednesday night while undergoing treatment at Gonoshasthaya Community-based Medical College Hospital in Savar.
Shamim Molla was beaten and injured by a group of students in Jahangirnagar University campus on Wednesday afternoon.
The social media has erupted in anger over this incident. In institutions like Dhaka and Jahangirnagar University, no one can accept such incidents. Common people have been protesting.
Popular small screen actress Mehazabien Chowdhury spoke about the matter.
She asked the question by posting on social media. She wanted to know, ‘Why is the massacre being normalised.’
She mentioned in the post, “Why is mass lynching being normalised?”

In the comment box one person wrote, “Abrar Fahad asked for some water in his last days and Tofazzal Bhai was fed rice. The two events seem similar to me.
