Finally, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yahya Akhtarhas been appointed as the 20th Vice Chancellor of Chattogram University (CU). He is a retired professor of political science.
On Wednesday (September 18), Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Education’s Secondary and Higher Secondary Departmen, Government University Branch. This appointment has been given in the notification signed by Shaheenur Islam.
According to the notification, with the approval of the President and Chancellor, according to Section 12(2) of Chattagram University Act 1973, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yahya Akhtar was temporarily appointed as Vice-Chancellor in the university on 5 conditions.
The conditions are- The appointment to the post of Vice-Chancellor will be effective from the date of joining. In the above post he will be entitled to pay and allowances equal to his previous post immediately after his retirement.
He shall enjoy other benefits pertaining to the post as per rules. He will be permanently stationed on the University campus as the Chief Executive Officer of the University and the President and Chancellor can cancel this appointment at any time if necessary.
