Apart from TV dramas, she is also excellent mother in movies

She is a member of Dhaka Theatre, one of the country’s theatrical organisations. She joined this group in 1977.

She is still associated with this group. But rather than the stage, she is now spending a very busy time in TV dramas and movies. She is an actress loved by the audience, she is Mili Basher.

After staying outside the country with her husband Masum Basher for a long time, she became busy with acting in TV dramas since 2015.

In the beginning, she acted in a drama directed by Niaz Kamran Abir with actor Apurba. Since then, her engagement in acting in dramas continues to increase.

In the meantime, Mili Basher has completed a drama directed by Rubel Hasan.

However, she has been loved by the audience by acting in movies as well as dramas. The movies starring Mili Basher which have been well received by the audience are – ‘Jodi Ekdin,’ ‘Leader- Ami Bangladesh’, ‘Poran’, ‘Talash’, ‘Rupsha Nodir Bakey’, ‘Kalbela’, ‘Srabon Josnay’, ‘Jao Pakhi Bolo Tare’, etc. Her movie ‘Noor’ directed by Raihan Rafi is also waiting for release.

She has played the role of a mother in most of the released movies. While talking in this regard, Mili Basher told this correspondent, “To be honest, working in movies is a bit different. As for the big canvas, when the shooting is done, the location is different. That’s why acting in movies is a little more fun.

And acting in TV dramas is like a home for me. Everyone here is my own, loved ones – I don’t like it if I don’t meet them. I am really impressed by the love that I got from the audience even after acting in the movie.

I have my sincere gratitude to the audience. I have also my sincere gratitude to those directors who have worked with me in dramas and movies.”

On behalf of Dhaka Theatre, Mili Basher acted in the stage plays ‘Shakuntalay,’ and ‘Muntasir Fantasy’, under the direction of Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu, and scripted by Selim Al Deen, and the play titled ‘Our Country’s Good’ under the direction of Humayun Kabir Himu and translated by Prof Abdus Selim.

On July 30, 1982, Masum Basher and Mili Basher got married. Later they went out of the country at the same time but returned together again in 2012. At that time, with the advice and support of renowned actor and director Afzal Hossain, both Masum and Mili started to get busy again in the world of acting.
