Prof. Harunur Rashid Bhuiyan passes away

Professor and veteran journalist Harunur Rashid Bhuiyan passed away at a hospital in the capital on Tuesday, following complications from old age. Born in Jajisar, Kashba, Brahmanbaria, Harunur Rashid Bhuiyan devoted his life to both journalism and education.

He was the editor and publisher of Daily Bishan and Weekly Bahumat, making significant contributions to the pursuit of truth and the growth of journalism. Alongside his journalistic career, he also served as a mathematics professor at Akhaura College, shaping the minds of many students.

He is survived by two sons and his eldest son, Sakik Ibne Bayzid, is the deputy incharge of the online section of The New Nation. His sons and relatives will carry forward his legacy of honour, and compassion.

His kulkhwani and doa mahfil will be held at his village home after Jumma prayers on Friday, with another doa mahfil after Asr prayers at his residence in Mohammadpur.
