Veteran Freedom Fighter Vikas Ranjan Dey, a beloved member of the Jashore community, died on Sunday (September 15). He was 81 years and 8 months.

Vikas Ranjan Dey was born on January 15, 1943, in Bakchar Schoolpara, Jashore, where he spent his life as a devoted father, husband, and patriotic son of the soil. He played a crucial role in the Liberation War of 1971, earning the esteemed title of Freedom Fighter. His commitment to the nation and its people will be remembered for generations.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shanti Rani Dey, and their four children-two sons and two daughters-who will carry forward his legacy of honor, courage, and compassion.

In recognition of his lifelong service, Vikas Ranjan Dey received a guard of honour in the presence of policemen and government officials at Jashore, a tribute fitting of a true patriot. The guard of honour was led by Jashore Assistant Commissioner of Land Mahmudul Hasan.
