City Desk :

Liberation War Affairs Adviser Farooq-e-Azam said on Saturday that a list of the number of individuals employed in government and semi-government institutions under the freedom fighter quota (FF) is being prepared.
“It is also being investigated whether there was any irregularity here,” he made the decision after a courtesy call on the Australian ambassador to Bangladesh on Sunday.
Farooq-e-Azam said the decision on freedom fighters used to be made through the National Freedom Fighter Council, which the ministry did not supervise.
He said that all ministries, departments, and directorates have been requested to submit a list of individuals employed under the freedom fighter quota.
The adviser said: “The Liberation War is a unique event, and there is no more glorious event than this. True freedom fighters want to regain that glory. The list of fake freedom fighters will be reviewed, and actions will be taken against those who are fraudulent.”
Regarding flood rehabilitation activities, he said that the extent of damage caused by the floods has not yet been determined and will take another week. He discussed the assistance and cooperation in the flood rehabilitation program with the Australian ambassador, who has assured to consider the support.
