Lucky removed from Adviser of Actors’ Equity

On August 12, Liaquat Ali Lucky resigned from the post of Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. This time, he has been removed from the position of Adviser of the Actors’ Equity Bangladesh.
Ahsan Habib Nasim, President of Actors’ Equity confirmed this yesterday.
After the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government, the screenshots of the ‘Alo Ashbei’ group came to light. Pro-Awami artistes from the showbiz arena were involved there.
Their position was against the student movement. They give total, be that as it may, the movement must stop.
The direction of the activities of the artists was given there. Not only that those who posted on social media for the students, were seen sharing the screenshots in the group. From the showbiz to the net world, there has been a lot of discussion. Many have called to boycott artists in the same group. After that, reformist artistes demanded the resignation of the leaders of Actors’ Equity, questioning the organisation’s role during the students’ movement. In that context, Liaquat Ali Lucky, who is the Advisor of the Executive Committee of the Actors’ Equity, has been dismissed. President of Actors’ Equity Bangladesh Ahsan Habib Nasim told media, “In a meeting of the Executive Committee of Actors’ Equity on September 5, it was decided to release him (Liaquat Ali Lucky). This action has been taken against him according to the Article 14.1.4 of the Constitution.”
Meanwhile, Actors’ Equity has sent a show cause notice to actors Saju Khadem and Urmila Srabanti Kar. According to Article 7.5 of the Constitution, they have been mourned. It is mentioned in this section, “If they engage in any activity against the organisation, they can be punished by the organisation.”
Both Saju Khadem and Urmila Srabanti Kar are executive members of the Actors’ Equity.
