Ex-mayor Nazrul puts on remand

Ex mayor of Netrakona municipality Nazrul Islam Khan has been taken under police remand for three days here today in connection with a case over vandalizing and torching Netrkona BNP office during the anti-discrimination student movement.
The case was filed with Netrakona model police station on September 5.
Police sources said, acting chief judicial magistrate Netrakona Kamal Hussain placed Nazrul Islam under three- day police remand as police produced him before the court today and pleaded seven-day remand.
Nazrul Islam, who was also the vice president of Netrakona district Awami League, was detained by immigration police at Hazrat Shah Jalal international airport (HSJIA) in Dhaka yesterday while he was fleeing to abroad through the airport , the sources said.
