East West University (EWU) has once again demonstrated its dedication to social responsibility and humanitarian causes.

In response to the severe flooding that has devastated the Feni, Comilla, and Noakhali districts, EWU has contributed over Tk3,371,000 to the chief adviser’s Relief Fund.

This substantial donation was transferred to the chief adviser’s Relief Funds account at Sonali Bank on Wednesday with the aim of providing immediate aid to those affected by the floods.

The generous donation was made possible by the collective efforts of the board of trustees, faculty members, and officials of East West University.

Beyond this financial support, EWU students have been actively engaged in rescue operations, as well as in distributing food, drinking water, and clothing to those in need since the onset of the flooding.

Professor Dr Shams Rahman, vice-chancellor of East West University, said on the university’s commitment: “At East West University, we are deeply committed to the welfare of our community and the greater good.

The recent floods have displaced thousands of families in the Feni, Cumilla, and Noakhali regions, and it is our responsibility to support them during this critical time.

Our contribution to the Chief Adviser’s Relief Fund is just one step towards helping these families rebuild their lives.”

Looking ahead, East West University plans to extend its support through collaborative projects, research, and partnerships aimed at the long-term recovery and rehabilitation of flood victims.
