The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has announced plans to extend metro rail services to Fridays. Officials from the DMTCL stated on Monday that they are working to implement this change as soon as possible.
“We have a plan in place and have discussed the matter with relevant authorities,” said a DMTCL official. “The specific date for the introduction of Friday services will be announced shortly.”

The decision to operate the metro rail on Fridays comes in response to increasing passenger demand. Station controllers, train operators, and other employees have been instructed to prepare rosters for Friday duties.
Given the lower passenger volume during the morning hours, the DMTCL plans to commence metro rail services on Fridays at 3 PM. Currently, the train operates six days a week, excluding Fridays.
