Musician Dinat Jahan Munni has a different popularity in movie songs.
The songs titled ‘Sob Kotha Bolena Hridoy’ (Film: ‘Megher Koley Roud’), ‘Mon Chai Mon Chai’ (Film: ‘Daruchini Dwip’), ‘O Priyo’ (Film: ‘Purnodoirgho Prem Kahini’), ‘Bhalobasai Buk Bhashaiya’ (Film: ‘Gohin Baluchor’), ‘Kon Bashori Gobhir Raate’ (Film: ‘Chondrogrohon’), and ‘Ek Cup Cha’ (Film: ‘Ek Cup Cha’) in her voice have become popular.
In any stage show in the country or abroad, Munni can be said to sing these songs on the request of the audience.
Apart from these songs Munni has sung in 100 movies till now including movies ‘Chai Khomota’, ‘Chchchu’, ‘Jononeta’, ‘Warning’, ‘Onek Dame Kena’, ‘Boss No One’, ‘Preme Porechhi’, ‘Dipu Number 2’, ‘Bhaiya’, ‘Rajneeti’, and ‘Ami Neta Hobo’. She lastly lent her voice for the playback song in movie ‘Rongona’ starring Shabnur.
Dinat Jahan Munni has given voice to the song titled ‘Jonmo Amar Chhilo Bujhi Bhul’ with the lyrics written by Kabir Bakul, the famous lyricist of the country who won the National Film Award many times.
The tune and music of the song has been composed by National Film Award winning composer and artiste Imran Mahmudul.
Meanwhile today is Munni’s birthday. The beginning of the birthday will be spent with the family in New York, USA, according to the singer.
But Munni said that she will leave for Michigan on the morning of her birthday because from August 30 to September 1, FOBANA Convention will be held there. Munni said that she will sing one day in this convention.
Regarding talking about the playback, exactly when she will come back to the country, plans for the song and more, Dinat Jahan Munni told this correspondent, “I want to sing the song of social change written about reality and humanity. If I get such good lyrics, I will try to sing with great interest. And all of us, who are in New York, are going together to the FOBANA Convention, Inshallah. The first birthday will be spent with my family. May my three children – Prerona, Protikkha and Prochchhod – be healthy and well, may they be like human beings – fulfil their father’s dreams, I only pray for this. And I have sincere gratitude to all those who have helped me in singing movie songs.”
Munni has two modern songs based solo albums – ‘Protikkha’ and ‘Ami Opra Hoye Boshe Achhi’.
