Maulana Numan Ahmad, the principal of Bishwanath Kamil Madrasa in Sylhet district stepped down from his duties in the face of student protests and agitations. He signed the resignation letter on Tuesday (August 27) around 2 pm. Later Mufti Maulana Nazim Uddin Ahmed took charge as the acting principal of the madrasa.
The students and parents protested against Maulana Numan Ahmad, principal of Bishwanath Darul Uloom Islamia Kamil Madrasa, demanding his removal from the morning of Tuesday (August 27) in the madrasa campus. If madrasah Principal No’man Ahmad did not step down, the students-public-parents started protesting.
Finally, the principal of the madrasa, Maulana No’man Ahmad, gave a written notice to the president at 2 pm and gave the responsibility of the acting principal to the lecturer of the madrasa, Numan Ahmad.
Chairman of Biswanath Sadar Union Parishad, Haji Md Doyal Uddin Talukder announced the resignation of Maulana Noman Ahmed, the principal of madrasa.
He said, Noman Ahmad resigned from the post of principal of the madrasa in writing. I have shown the written document to the students-parents and the public.
Army Officer Saidur Rahman, Daulatpur union parishad chairman Hafiz Arab Khan, Rabbi Mirza Rustum Beg, Abdul Hannan, Municipal Jamaat Amir Mashtar Imad Uddin, Biswanath Upazila Jamaat Secretary Matiur Rahman, Municipal Jamaat Secretary Abdus Sobhan Member, BNP Leader Jasim Uddin Juned were present.
