Kazi Nazrul Islam’s songs are always relevant for the movement. The riots that took place in Kolkata from May 2 to May 18 in 1926, Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam wrote this song under the titled ‘Kandari Hunshiar’ as his protest and warning. It found place in his ‘Sorbohara’ poetry book. Even after all these years, many chose the song as the
language of protest. The song has been well arranged with
new music. Animesh and I sang together after Coke Studio. Sujon sang very well and also
made great music.”

creation of the song was on my mind. As well as how millions
of people have been put in dire straits by flash floods across the country and how others have stepped up to the challenge to
rescue them, these have provided the inspiration to make this song. Everyone including Pantha Kanai has performed amazingly.”
