The auspicious Janmashtami of Lord Sree Krishna was celebrated in Magura on Monday with the lighting of mangal pordip, colorful procession and discussion meeting. On this occasion, a colorful procession from Nijnanduali Nitai Gopal Sebashram circumambulates the city and ends at Satdoha Ashram at 11:30 am. A discussion meeting was held there.
Former minister, BNP Central Vice Chairman Adv. Nitai Roy Chowdhury was the chief guest at the ceremony presided over by District Puja Udjapan Parishad President Basudev Kumar Kundu. Sreemat Chinmayananda Das Babaji Maharaj (Chanchal), Principal of Niznanduali Sree Sree Nitai Gaur Gopal Sebashram inaugurated the program by lighting the mangal prodip.
District BNP convener Ali Ahmed, member secretary Akhtar Hossain, prominent social worker and district BNP member Manowar Hossain Khan, District Jamaat Ameer Professor MB Baker, Bangladesh Puja Udjapan National Council Member Advocate Pradyut Kumar Singha, Magura Press Club President Prof Saidur Rahman, General Secretary Shafiqul Islam Shafiq and others were present as the special guest on the occasion.
