Bangladesh National Cricket team achieved the historical victory against Pakistan National Cricket team as the Tigers earned a 10-wicket win against the home side on Day 5 play of the first Test cricket match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi of Pakistan on Sunday.

It was the Tigers’ maiden victory against Pakistan in their Test cricket campaign.

Winning in the coin-session, Bangladesh decided to field first. Pakistan declared their first innings making 448 for the loss of six wickets on the second day (Thursday).

In reply, Bangladesh dominated over their opponents piling up a mammoth total of 565 on the fourth day (Saturday). Mushfiqur Rahim notched up a calm 191.

His 341-ball innings was decorated with 22 fours and one sixer. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding 522-minute innings.

Pakistan were shot out for 146 in their second innings on the final day (Sunday).

Needing 29 runs to win, the Tigers coasted home scoring 30 for the loss of none.

Opener Zakir Hasan remained unbeaten with 15 runs, while opener Shadman Islam remained unbeaten with nine runs. Zakir Hasan hit three fours, while Shadman Islam cracked on four.

Bangladeshi bowlers bowled extremely well in the second innings to bundle out Pakistan for a paltry total.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz captured four wickets in the space of 21 runs, while Shakib Al Hasan claimed three wickets at the cost of 44 runs.
Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana took one wicket each for 20, 20 and 30 runs respectively.

Pakistan resumed their second innings with the over-night score of 23 for the loss of one wicket. Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood resumed their second innings with the over-night score of 12 and nine runs respectively.

Shan Massod could add more five runs on the fifth day as he was caught behind by wicketkeeper Litton Das off Hasan Mahmud when the home side’s total was 28 for the loss of two wickets.

Opener Abdullah Shafique and second-down Babar Azam mended the innings contributing together 38 runs for the third wicket partnership before Babar Azam (22) was bowled out by Nahid Rana when the hosts’ score was 66 for the loss of three wickets.Shakib Al Hasan struck as third-down Saud Shakeel (0) was stumped out by wicketkeeper Litton Das off left-arm spinner when Pakistan’s total was 67 for the loss of four wickets.

Opener Abdullah Shafique and fourth-down Mohammad Rizwan built a notable partnership scoring together 37 runs in the fifth wicket partnership before Abdullah Shafique was caught at the backward point by Shadman Islam off Shakib Al Hasan when the home side’s score was 104 for the loss of five wickets.

Mahidy Hasan Miraz struck as fifth-down Agha Salman (0) was caught by Shadman Islam off right-arm spinner when Pakistan’s total was 105 for the loss of six wickets.

Miraz struck again as Shaheen Shah Afridi (2) was trapped leg before wicket by right-arm spinner when Pakistan’s score was 111 for the loss of seven wickets.

Then Shakib Al Hasan hit as Naseem Shah (3) was caught by at the short mid wicket by Mushfiqur Rahim off the left-arm spinner when Pakistan’s total was 118 for the loss of eight wickets.

Mohammad Rizwan fought back making a fine 51. He hit six fours in his 80-ball knock before he was bowled out by Miraz when Pakistan’s score was 142 for the loss of none wickets.

Miraz struck again as Number-11 Mohammad Ali (0) was trapped leg before wicket by Miraz when Pakistan’s innings was concluded.
