Nascib’s elected committee reinstatement demanded

Leaders and members of the National Association of Small and Cottage Industries of Bangladesh ‘Nascib’ demanded to reinstatement its elected committee alleging the government appointed Adminstrator is destroying the organisation.

About 20,000 male and female small entrepreneurs of the organisation demanded to remove the adminstrator as soon as possible.

They said Nascib has always made an important contribution to the country’s economy and the pace should be continued through reinstatement of its elected committee soon.

They said under the elected office bearers the organization of the country’s small and cottage industries were run well. But the recently appointed administrator is nothing but ruining the very important organization of the small entrepreneurs.

The general members of the organization blamed several power greedy leaders of the deposed Awami League regime for the current worst situation of Nascib.

The district presidents of the organization participated in the meeting held in a city hotel on Saturday.
Nascib Faridpur district unit president Akter Hossain presided over the meeting.

The district presidents urged the interim government to reinstatement the elected committee for the speedy economic activities of Nascib.

They blamed former Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, State Minister of Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu and Awami League Organising Secretary Mirza Azam for the worst state of the Nascib.

The SME sector leaders emphasized that the Nascib become nearly dysfunctional after appointing the joint-secretary of the commerce ministry, Subrata Kumar Dey as the administrator.

“We have not found any activities of the administrator to make the organization running well,” the district presidents said.

They said the administrator have not taken any programme aiming to develop the SME sector in the country so far.
As the members were not get any solution from the administrator they turned their face from the organization.
The administrator even did not arrange any meeting with Nascib leaders as well district presidents.
Besides, he hatched conspiracy to dissolve 62 district committees of Nascib.

Sources said the fund of Nascib running out in the last six months after appointing the administrator. Four of the officials of Nascib have resigned due to huge pressures.

The rest of the employees have faced scarcity of money for their wages.
Their Tiffin and lunch facilities also curtailed.

Meanwhile, the high-salary, allowances and other facilities of the administrator still remained.
In such situation, the administrator on August 8 has increased his tenure for more six months in a hurry.
Nascib President Mirza Nurul Gani Shovon said the administrator two term hiked his tenure without taking any development programme for the SME sector.

In this situation, he have sent a letter to the Chief Adviser of the interim government Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus in this regard.

He hoped that Dr. Yunus will take the right decision to save the country’s very important SME sector by removing the administrator from Nascib.
