The officials and employees of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Labour and Employment will donate their single day’s salaries to the chief adviser’s relief fund to help the country’s flood victims.
Asif Mahmud, adviser of the two ministries made the announcement in a post on social media on Friday.
In the post, the adviser also called upon the countrymen to come forward to get rid of the crisis.
The flash flood took a worsening turn in many parts of the country’s northeastern regions, including Feni, Chattogram, Cumilla, Noakhali, Sunamganj, and Habiganj.
At least 13 people have been killed and 4.5 million affected by floods triggered by heavy rains, the disaster management and relief ministry said on Friday.
Sensing danger, Chief Adviser Prof Mohammad Yunus has urged the countrymen, who are interested to stand by the flood victims, to send money to his ‘Relief and Welfare Fund’.
