Former convener of Chittagong North District BNP, recently former Joint Secretary General of BNP, advisor to BNP Chairperson Lion Aslam Chowdhury, who was imprisoned for eight and a half years, was freed at last. He was released from Chittagong Central Jail around 10 am on Tuesday (August 20).
Earlier, ignoring the rain since morning, hundreds of BNP leaders and activists gathered at the prison gate to welcome Aslam Chowdhury. At this time, the activists stood there and chanted various slogans.
Later, when he came out, he was welcomed with flower garlands by Chittagong Metropolitan BNP Member Secretary Nazimur Rahman and a large number of leaders and activists.
At that time, Nazimur Rahman said that Aslam Chowdhury was unjustly imprisoned by the Awami League government for eight and a half years.
