Uncertainty looms over the resuming operation of two railway stations in Sirajganj, which were vandalized and torched by the attackers during the Quota Reform Movement. Though the incumbent government has initiated to resume operation of all closed trains shortly, uncertainty has been loomed over the resuming operation of two railway stations located in Sirajganj district.

The two railway stations include Baza’ar Station and Shaheed M Monsur Ali Station.
On August 4, the agitating people carried out vandalism at both the stations and set furniture including tables, chairs and fans on fire. Since the period, stoppage of the trains and up-down of passengers at the stations have remained suspended.

As a result, commuters of the northern region, especially people of Sirajganj are being deprived of the train services from the two stations. Commuters said, though two more railway stations-Jamtail and Ullapara of the district came under vandalism by the attackers, the stations have resumed activities for the sake of commuters.
