Women’s T20 World Cup will not be held in BD

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup (WC) 2024 will not be held in Bangladesh. The Women’s T20 World Cup was scheduled to be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka and Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet from October 3 to October 20. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup instead of Bangladesh. The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, one of the most prestigious cricket meet for women of the whole world will be held at Sharjah and Dubai of the UAE. The International Cricket Council (ICC), the highest governing body of the world cricket disclosed this matter in a press release on Tuesday last. The ICC took this decision in a virtual meeting, which was held yesterday. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ICC Geoff Allardice finalised this matter on Tuesday.
It may be mentioned that Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe were interested to host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Later, The UAE are interested to host the Cricket meet.
As there are some citizens of the world have been banned to travel Bangladesh, the ICC decided to change the venues. Geoff Allardice gave thanks to the UAE as it has come forward to host Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.
