A well-orchestrated conspiracy is underway to undermine the success and objectives of the recent student-led mass uprising, BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman warned on Tuesday (20 August).
In a video message, Tarique urged everyone to stay vigilant against such conspiracies.
“To preserve the spirit and goals of the mass uprising, it is essential to ensure the political and economic empowerment of the people while holding the ousted anti-people forces accountable,” he stated.
Tarique emphasized that a change in power represents more than just a shift in state leadership; it requires a fundamental transformation of the state and its political landscape.
He further argued that to facilitate public participation in state reform and to establish sustainable democratic governance, it is imperative to have a government that is directly accountable to the people through elections.
