Russia’s state atomic energy corporation Rosatom rejects the news about unethical financial transactions in the Rooppur Nuclear Power Project (RNPP) terming as provocative. On Monday (August 19) in the afternoon, in a press release sent by the media of Rosatom from Moscow, Russia, the news about unethical financial transactions in the Rooppur project published and circulated in various media in Bangladesh was rejected.
According to the press release, Rosatom is committed to open working practices, anti-corruption policies and ensuring transparency in procurement processes in all its projects. Transparency in business processes is regularly ensured through external audits. Rosatom is also ready to approach the courts to protect its own reputation and interests.
According to Rosatom, we consider the false information published and circulated in the media as an attempt to tarnish the Rooppur nuclear power project. This project is being implemented to solve the problem of electricity shortage in Bangladesh and for the welfare of the people.
